Ubatuba Beach Exploding UFO Magnesium Fragments, São Paulo, Brazil, 1957

· 38s

In September 1957, an anonymous letter was sent to Ibrahim Sued, a columnist for the Brazilian newspaper O Globo, describing a spectacular event witnessed on a beach near Ubatuba, São Paulo.

Narration

A metallic disk dives toward Ubatuba's Atlantic coast and detonates violently.

September 1957: pale Ubatuba sand littered with small silvery-white metallic fragments still smoldering.

Anonymous beachgoers collected the fragments and mailed them to journalist Ibrahim Sued.

Dr. Olavo Fontes submitted the silvery fragments for analysis, finding exceptionally pure magnesium.

Caltech and Orsay independently measured magnesium isotope ratios — both confirmed normal terrestrial values.

The witnesses were never identified, and the irregular silvery-white metallic fragments yield no definitive answer.
